POPE'S AIR DISCOUNT CLUB

This annual agreement ensures your heating and a/c systems are running at peak performance and is the MOST efficient way to keep your systems running smoothly and economically. Here is a summary of what you get* for $129.95 per zone (system):

HEATING SERVICE: 21-point heating check
COOLING SERVICE: 18-point a/c check
DISCOUNT PARTS: 15% OFF all repair parts
PREFERENTIAL SERVICE: Top priority level service before non-club customers

DISCOUNT: The company will provide a 15% discount on all repair parts.

PREFERENTIAL SERVICE: The company will provide service to you before non-agreement customers. *Same Day Service may or may not be available due to weather conditions.

HOURS OF SERVICE: The services covered by this agreement will be scheduled during The Company’s regular working hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays. After hours or weekend scheduling is available for an additional charge.

PARTS: The agreement does not include any parts or materials except maintenance materials (lubrication / cleaning supplies) necessary to perform the required maintenance, unless otherwise indicated below.

REPAIRS: Any repairs required beyond those provided in this agreement will be brought to your attention. The Company shall not be liable for any loss arising from delay, failure to to discover a condition requiring repair or replacement, or as a consequence of any performance under this agreement.

RECORDS: The Company will maintain a complete record of all maintenance and repairs performed by us and will provide you with a written report upon completion of any work. It is the Customer’s Responsibility to contact Pope’s to schedule maintenance appointments.

TERM: This agreement is for one year from the effective date. This contract is transferrable with notice to the POPE'S AIR.

BONUS BUCKS: $50 accrued annually up to $500 to be used for a system replacement

GAS Heating Systems: 12-Point Inspection

12-Point Inspection: Receive ALL of the air conditioning services outlined below PLUS:

Heat Exchanger inspected for cracks and deterioration. (Additional charge if disassembly of unit is necessary. Heat exchangers can develop cracks with age. Cracks pose risk of serious illness from toxic fumes, such as carbon monoxide emitted.)
Air Filter inspected. Dirty air filters can increase operating costs and damage equipment. Customer should replace air filter each month.
Burners inspected. Dirty burners can cause poor combustion which results in carbon monoxide being emitted. You pay for useful heat that “goes up the stack.”
Thermocouple checked. If defective, this will cause the furnace to shut down. We don’t take a chance with your comfort, better to replace it before it becomes more costly to fix.
Fan switch checked and adjusted as needed. An improperly adjusted fan switch can waste energy or cause nuisance fan cycling.
Pilot cleaned and adjusted as necessary.
Safety Controls operationally checked. All safeties need to be checked to make sure they will shut the system off if a dangerous situation should occur.
Blower inspected. Small amounts of dust will inhibit airflow.
Combustion air openings checked. Improper combustion air can lead to unit gases entering house.
Secure All Panels Loose panels can increase operating costs and cause a dangerous condition.
Thermostat checked and calibrated as required.
Temperatures and performance recorded.

Heat Pumps: 21-Point Inspection

Receive ALL 1 – 18 points of the air conditioning inspections outlined below PLUS:

DEFROST TIMER checked.
Reversing Valve will be operationally checked.
Auxiliary heat strips will be checked.

Air Conditioning: 18-Point Inspection

Adjustments made where necessary. Parts are not included, but if needed, are 15% OFF.

Condenser Coil inspection. Dirty condenser coils raise refrigerant pressure higher than needed, increasing electrical bill and shortening the life of the compressor
Evaporator Coil inspection. Coils become dirty because air filters only collect a portion of air particles. Even a small amount of dirt can decrease efficiency and increase energy costs. This is a major cause of compressor failure.
Blower Wheels cleaned. Dirty blower wheels reduce air flow, causing longer operating time and increased cost, leading to loss of comfort and compressor failure.
Refrigerant charge checked by super heat / subcooling method. A low or high refrigerant charge can easily go unnoticed and increase operating costs. An improper charge can cause compressor failure.
Air Filter optional replacement with premium grade filter. Customer should replace properly-sized air filter every month.
Belts & Pulleys Loose belts and worn pulleys decrease air flow, increase operating costs and shorten compressor life. Belts crack and break with age.
Lubricate motors and bearings. Improperly lubricated rotating equipment will eventually fail.
Thermostat checked / calibrated. Improperly calibrated thermostats allow the unit to run longer than necessary. Every degree your a/c operates below 78˙ can add 5–8% to the cost of cooling.
Controls and safeties inspected / tested.
Motors cleaned and lubricated. Dirty motors are less efficient — will overheat causing premature failure.
Capacitors tested. Bad capacitors can lead to compressor and motor failure.
Condensate drain cleaned. Algae can plug a condensation drain causing expensive water damage
Crankcase Heater Unheated oil will lead to compressor failure
Relays and Contactors Worn contactors and stuck relays will lead to a compressor failure.
Unit DiSConnect inspection. A worn or over-heated disconnect blows fuses and is dangerous.
Unit Wiring inspection and loose connections tightened. Loose connections can lead to a motor or compressor failure.
Temperatures & Pressures taken and recorded. An accurate record of your equipment’s vital data can indicate potential problems, which can be serviced in advance. Pope’s Air records will be kept with the unit which may reduce Emergency service calls.
Duct Work checked for leaks and proper insulation. Duct leaks may exist from the time it was installed and insulation can fall off. Unrepaired duct work problems can increase costs by 30% or more. Accessible duct work will be inspected at least once during the first year of the agreement.
